This edition of The Five Count featured an exclusive interview with Fred Wesley. Fred is considered by many to be the greatest trombone player of all time. He served as bandleader for James Brown’s band The J.B.’s, was a pivotal member of many of George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic bands, and is a former member of the Count Basie Orchestra. During the show he discussed how he entered the music business, what James Brown and George Clinton were like to work with behind the scenes, and his impact on the world of hip hop. We were knee-deep in the funk!
